I want to start off by saying I am a skeptical person by nature. It's not straight disbelief, I feel it's a healthy desire to see proof. Knowing this about me you can understand my reaction when my friend Jeremy came to me with yet another get rich and quit your job scheme, this one going by the title of Job Killers, Murder your 9 to 5.
Some backstory: up to this point I had been struggling to get my Web Design and Development business up and running. I was handy with code, and made pretty and functional websites, but hadn't yet learned the proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques to really get eyeballs onto my site. There was so much conflicting information and I was constantly belly-aching to my friends my desire for a simple short tutorial course or handbook to get me started.
I was stressed, I was annoyed, and I was bleeding money each day. I had very little time, and I told Jeremy so, loudly. He had already roped me into several other “free” seminars by people like Sam Ovens who will teach you how to build a consulting business. It's free for the low low price of 6k usd. An actual quote from that one:
“This is an extra bonus with a value of $500 I will throw in just because my friend is twisting my arm.”
What I mean to say is that Jeremy single-handedly kept my spam folder full to the brim.
Still, his persistence eventually won a promise out of me to at least watch some of the Job Killing videos on “website rentals” and “lead generation”. I did. I was not impressed.
I also didn't close the video.
Over the course of the next five days I watched more videos. I felt guilty for stealing time away from my actual real business, but there was something that caught my eye. It had a certain je ne sais quoi about it.
I devoured online reviews that sung Job Killing's praises to the high heavens, and weighed them against articles called Brad Campbell and Dan Klein (the founders) professional scammers.
Two weeks and much conversation later I decided to bite the bullet and talk to the men in charge. I scheduled a conference call with Jeremy, my fiance, and I for the JK sales team to call us.
Right on time a gentleman named Ben lit up the phone which we had put on speaker. I had prepared some tough questions. I knew more than enough to be dangerous, and if there was any chink in the armor I was going to find it.
“What about SEO? How can we generate leads for clients if they can't find the site?”
“That's covered in the course.”
“How skeptical were you of this whole venture, and what ended up winning you over?”
“I had a friend who had done it, saw him land some clients. I wanted out of my job and now 8 months later I have 8 clients. Dan recognized me for my selling ability so now I work the phones for him.”
“What's your cut if we sign up?”
“*Information redacted*”
Alright, it wasn't actually redacted, but I do consider it personal and private. I just wanted to show you that I wasthat guy asking those nosy questions. This was not an inconsiderable investment. It would require time, it would require patience, it would require money and I had little of those three.
Over the course of the next half hour Ben laid out the game plan and how things work. It was eye opening.
You may not know this about me, but I'm a hard core schemer. I'm a professional magician, and one of the first things you learn is everyone thinks they are the most clever person in the room and it's my job to catch them on it. I tried everything to see where we would be cheated.
At the end of the call Ben asked for the sale. We put him on mute to confer. My friends balked at what was being offered, and for once I was the odd voice out.
“You guys realize what is being offered here? The last three months I've been trying to learn SEO and a training course, and more, is being handed to us. We would be able to make the tuition back in less than two months, and it's all residual. This is exactly the thing I've been looking for. I say we go for it!”
My now partners in crime assented and we signed up.
I will never look back.
The course is broken down into a series of weeks of training, each covering different topics. With a basic foundational 5 week course. It all culminates in a broken down “this is what SEO is and how it works and how to get it to work for you” Week 5 that is worth the tuition all by itself.
I would like to repeat this:
People make millions off of providing the SEO services that Brad Campbell teaches in Week 5
What struck me was the fact that the JK process had been not just put up, but was already on JK Version 2.0. Brad and Dan were reworking it and changing the videos as I was taking the course, making it easier for people to understand it. They already had my money, they didn't need to even lift a single finger to help me after that part, but there they were.
Then I was introduced into the Facebook group.
The Job killing Facebook group is one of the greatest assets one gains from signing up. At the time of this writing it is 3,060 students strong (it was only 1,200 when I signed up twelve months ago). It is filled with people all going through training at the same time. You will meet people who have killed their jobs and are enjoying life as well as new students who are struggling and asking questions. The people who have succeeded are always just a single private message away, and any question I personally have asked has been answered within an hour.

You need someone to write website content for you? There is a recommended list.
Having problems with a tough detail of web design? There are Web Dev experts on there to walk you through the process.
The real superstars of the group are Dan and Brad themselves. Despite already having my money, they are there and active. More than active, they have scheduled (and unscheduled) live Facebook webinars answering common questions in the group. The topics range from motivational to how to prospect new clients to a simplified analysis of informational gathering and how to turn it to your advantage.
What really changed my opinion of it all was a Facebook post from Dan one day.
“Does anyone need help? Not for JK, just is anyone in a bad place in their life?”
A quote said by Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie Django Unleashed: “You had my attention, now you have my interest.”
He was offering jobs to people who needed it just so they could get by in their lives and continue getting through the JK course.
My eyes were open after that, and I began to realize exactly what they had done and the responsibility they felt to the community they had created.
Each week Dan and Brad spend a couple hours in a live coaching call or webinar, answering any questions their students are eager to have answered. At almost any point if you tag their names in a post in the group they will answer you directly. They are active in helping others learn and grow through a combination of presence, hands on attention, and no small amount of tough love.
There is no shortage of marketing programs out there. While they don't let you put anything that isn't true on the internet, I have seen programs that promise six figure salaries within 90 days. They have made claims that the process is extremely easy and streamlined. They are focusing on signing students up and giving them a nominal education before releasing them into the wild.
Dan and Brad never promise it will be easy. Every step of the way they talk about how you will have to push yourself, break out of your comfort zone, and work hard every day to make your own success. They focus on the tools and habits that are needed to succeed.
One of the things that sticks out in my mind comes from a video of Brad before I signed up (and I paraphrase), “Even if you don't sign up you need to learn to invest in yourself, invest in self-improvement. Even if it is only 1% a day, what does that make it in 90 days, 200 days? You do this from education. Pick up a book and start reading. That is what makes the true difference in the end.”
There are reading homework assignments, there are daily projects. Dan personally runs an ongoing game meant to force the Job Killers in the group to grow. They challenge you, because that is what will help you write the life story you want.
The path they lay isn't easy, and I've seen many people drop out, but it is straightforward and it works. One of the first things they tell you: “Don't be distracted. Just us, and trust the process. The process works.
The ability to win is within reach of all of us. With Job Killing you have constant coaching, lessons being frequently updated, fellow students and 24 hour question assistance. This is far more attention and material than you will find anywhere else.
